Wilson, who can be on the 4×400 relay pool, posted on his social media in regards to the choice, with the caption: “WE GOING TO THE OLYMPICS.” On Monday, he posted a photograph with the official uniform with the “USA” emblazoned on it on his Instagram Story.

A rising highschool junior at Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, Wilson made all of it the way in which to the ultimate of the 400-meter remaining on the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, on June 24. He completed sixth within the race, which stored his Olympics hopes alive. Despite his remaining place, he mentioned he was “so grateful” to be a part of it.

Bill Mallon, an Olympics historian, advised CBS News that Wilson is the youngest male observe Olympian to make the U.S. group. The youngest ever observe and discipline American athlete is Esther Stroy, who competed on the age of 15 within the 1968 Olympics, Mallon advised CBS News.
Wilson’s Olympic bid comes as huge names in Team USA akin to Simone Biles and Suni Lee punched their tickets to the City of Love over the weekend.
