Activision Confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Character Recast After Players Expressed Concern About New Voices

Activision has confirmed it has recast some members of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 forged after followers seen much-loved Zombies characters with new voices in-game.

The firm issued an announcement to Game Developer admitting characters in Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode have been recast amid the continued SAG-AFTRA strike.

Zombies characters William Peck (Zeke Alton) and Samantha Maxis (Julie Nathanson) are at present voiced by new, unknown actors. Alton advised Game Developer that he takes no challenge with Activision’s actions with Peck, however expressed concern “for my model as a performer.”

“Fans of the sport have reached out to me as a result of the dearth of crediting [of the replacement actor] implies that it could nonetheless be me which unfairly represents my skills as a performer,” Alton stated.

SAG-AFTRA’s dispute with the online game business revolves round using generative AI to copy voice actor performances. Activision stated: “We respect the non-public selection of those performers.
