Netflix has unveiled a poster for Arcane Season 2 ahead of its return this November, and it features a clever nod to the promo art for the show’s debut run.
The latest look at Season 2 came by way of Netflix on X/Twitter, where fans instantly spotted parallels between the poster for the first and second seasons. The key visual for Arcane’s sophomore outing depicts Jinx cradling a seemingly frightened Vi, awash with anguish, accompanied by the caption: “Nothing ever stays dead.”
The artwork is a role reversal of the character’s positions in the Season 1 poster, which featured younger versions of the siblings, as Vi comfortingly held Jinx close to her. Fans felt the difference between the two images represented a potentially darker turn for Season 2, with some labelling Jinx’s pose as “possessive.”

Idk why could be just me, but first poster is defo Vi being protective and loving with powder scared of something external.
But s2 poster? Jinx doesn’t look protective so much as POSSESSIVE, and Vi looks scared of the hug itself not of something external 😰

Vi hugging Powder in S.01 vs Jinx smothering her is… She’s not protecting or comforting her. She’s hugging tightly to confort so that she stays calm. Vi here sense there’s smth wrong with the hug. Jinx is doing the strangulation combat technique on her.

the s1 poster vi is facing away as if she doesn’t care what the world thinks or does she just wants to keep her sister safe.
S2 though jinx is looking right AT US as if to dare for us to try and take vi away from her, my god this is JUST a poster howww 😭

This Arcane season 2 poster, wow. Talk about communicating through imagery. Informs you all about the conflicting emotions Jinx and Vi are going through. The solace of reunion, the hatred, the fear, the doubt, the determination. pic.twitter.com/1howVMpAWo

Spoilers for Arcane Season 1 follow.
Of course, Jinx would have reasons to be protective of her sister if a popular Season 1 fan theory is proven true. A teaser released earlier this year fueled the speculation that Vander, a popular character who died last season, is, in fact, Warwick, a monster from League of Legends “transformed by agonizing experiments.”
For now, though, Riot Games has kept details scarce about what to expect from Season 2. Plot details are under wraps for the time being, but we do know that Hailee Steinfeld (Vi), Ella Purnell (Jinx), and Katie Leung (Caitlyn Kiramman) will reprise their voice roles, with additional voice casting still “to be announced.”
Arcane Season 2 will start streaming on Netflix sometime in November, three years after the first season, which IGN called a “masterpiece.”
