Get the history of Call Of Duty for a very hefty price (Call Of Duty)

Fans are ridiculing a new Call Of Duty bundle on Steam as ‘Call Of Wallet: Modern Robbery,’ despite it containing over a dozen games.

Despite speculation that they might not, it seems this year’s Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass from day one this year, and yet a poorly timed bundle of older games has also suddenly appeared on Steam.

That sounds like a fun bundle, for anyone with unlimited time on their hands, until you learn that it costs £728. What makes that even worse is that as a result of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Call Of Duty is coming to subscription service Game Pass, where it’ll be available for no additional charge.

Understandably, fans have ridiculed the bundle and its price, with one fan simply calling it, ‘Call Of Wallet: Modern Robbery.’

The bundle comes with 40 separate downloads, including DLC, from the first title in 2003 up to 2017’s Call Of Duty: WW2, but doesn’t include any games released after 2017.

Steam has given the bundle a 10% discount (original price is £809) but, individually, none of the games are actually on sale, which means that they are still offered at full price over a decade since release.

‘They are still selling a 12-year-old games with no servers at the full $60 (£40) price,’ says CrimsonDemon on Reddit, alluding to Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2.

‘10% is an insult at this point.’ adds Dr Dynamic.

‘Imagine spending $1,000 on a bundle that comes [with] what is essentially the same game but with a different coat of paint, Superchronicultra says.

Some fans are also worried about playing the older Call Of Duty games, in fear of having their PCs compromised by phishing bots in online servers.

It’s hard to fathom who the bundle is aimed at, especially given the price, but it certainly doesn’t seem to have anyone interested amongst hardcore Call Of Duty players.

Over 9,000 fans have upvoted the Reddit post, where fans unanimously agree that the bundle is far too expensive. It’s looks like most fans are sensibly waiting for Call Of Duty to be added to Game Pass instead.

This year’s Black Ops 6 will be added on day one, sometime in the autumn, but it’s still unclear when any of the older titles will be added to the service.
