The update, however, has caused some controversy with the port’s main developer, Grove Street Games, after all mentions of the studio were removed from the opening title screen.
As noted in various posts on X, the up to date opening titles have fully eliminated Grove Street Games from the splash display screen, with writer Rockstar, who made the unique video games, now the one one talked about.
While the developer remains to be listed within the remaster’s closing credit, Grove Street Games CEO Thomas Williamson has since referred to as out Rockstar, for what he describes as a ‘dick transfer’.

While there’s clearly some inside politics at play, it’s Rockstar that is primarily at fault here. They didn’t develop the remastered collection but they were still in charge of it and decided to release it in its bug-ridden state, instead of delaying it.
Rockstar is currently full steam ahead on the highly-anticipated GTA 6, with many fans expecting a new trailer to drop before the end of the year.
