Developer Infold Games appeared during today’s May 2024 State of Play presentation to reveal that Infinity Nikki is coming to PlayStation 5 with a beta test planned for Q3 2024.
It’s a video that highlights the bright visuals and its lush fantasy world players will discover when exploring the open-world dress-up sim later this year. It’s maybe our best look at the world of Miraland yet, revealing some of the creatures players will interact with along with a variety of activities to enjoy.
Infinity Nikki was made with the help of Kentaro Tominaga, a developer best known for working as a designer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s more Disney than Nintendo and promises puzzles, platforming, and, of course, the option to customize Nikki in any outfit the player chooses. Infold producer and founder Runhao Yao spoke about Nikki’s friend Momo and some of the outfits players can look forward to in a PlayStation.Blog post, including the Floating, Purification, Gliding, and Shrinking outfits.
“As players progress through the game, they’ll encounter exciting challenges that require the use of different outfit abilities,” Yao said. “These levels blend puzzle-solving, collecting, and platforming. Nikki and Momo will race in mine carts with the wind, navigate through the miniature worlds of Beauty Lab, or run from ghosts in railcars. Each diorama-like level brings unique challenges and fun through various gimmicks and designs.”
It’s currently unclear what the Infinity Nikki test has in store or when its exact release date is. For more on today’s State of Play, you can read about the newly announced Astro Bot game, the Until Dawn remaster, and Ballad of Antara.
