Developer Motion Blur has introduced Black State, a visually gorgeous new third-person action-adventure that, if the attractive announcement trailer is correct, mixes the espionage motion of Metal Gear Solid with the reality-bending portal tech of Portal. It’s powered by Unreal Engine 5 and in growth for PC.

After watching Black State’s utterly in-game trailer (critically, watch it above), we requested the builders at Turkey-based Motion Blur just a few questions concerning the mission. First, what the story is about: “A former navy legend is summoned for a mysterious mission: to rescue a captive scientist and uncover the reality behind a cataclysmic occasion. The mission, assigned by enigmatic Architects, is shrouded in uncertainty as some doorways inside the unknown territory result in unpredictable and dangerous locations. Each door reveals new secrets and techniques and challenges, and he should navigate this treacherous panorama, discovering what awaits him behind every threshold, to finish his mission and unveil the hidden truths.”

Our subsequent query was about that Metal Gear comparability: “Obviously, we love the Metal Gear Solid collection. While engaged on our in depth, almost 500-page sport design doc over 2.5 years, we consistently admired video games like The Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, and lots of others that push the boundaries of growth and gameplay mechanics. Inspired by these influences, our small workforce is dedicated to delivering the best growth high quality and distinctive gameplay mechanics, regardless of our restricted dimension. We attempt to create wealthy and deep storytelling mixed with participating gameplay mechanics, providing a powerful and unforgettable gaming expertise. Our objective is to push ourselves to our limits and provides avid gamers the absolute best expertise we will present.”

Black State has been in growth for the higher a part of the previous three years. The Motion Blur workforce says “the concept for Black State originated from the artistic thoughts of Kadir Demirden. This idea has been evolving in his creativeness for over a decade. During this era, in depth analysis and growth have been carried out to discover how a small workforce might produce a sport with AAA high quality.”

IGN could have far more on Black State as growth progresses.
