Sony has once again given the PS5 Slim console a temporary price cut, along with the PSVR2 and a number of games in the Days Of Play sale.
As part of Sony’s Days Of Play promotion, the company has announced widespread discounts across PlayStation hardware.
The annual sale event is now live around the world and covers a huge assortment of games and PlayStation consoles.
While it isn’t as generous as previous discounts, the price of the PS5 Slim console (with a disc drive) is now £439.99, a £40 reduction from £479.99. The digital version, meanwhile, has also dropped by £40 to £349.99.
This discount is available from PlayStation Direct, but it also reflected by other online retailers like Amazon, Currys, and Argos at the same price.
If you’ve been on the fence about picking up a PlayStation VR2, now might be the best time to consider it. The headset by itself has been reduced by £90 from £529.99 to £439.99, while a bundle with Horizon Call Of The Mountain is now available for £479.99.
This promotion is only for a limited time, with all the discounts set to end on Wednesday June 12, or while stocks last.
As for the discounted games available digitally on the PlayStation Store, the highlights include 25% off Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has also been knocked down by 55%. You can check out the full list of games here.
While Sony was expected to stage a PlayStation event of some kind in May, at time of writing the company has yet to announce anything.
Some have speculated there may have been confusion among insiders with a corporate strategy meeting within Sony, which took place last week, but with only two days of May left it won’t be long till we know one way or the other.
There is, however, an event planned for the Silent Hill 2 remake on Thursday, which might suggest Sony is waiting until Summer Game Fest next month to make any minor announcements it might have.
