Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith Secures One of the Top-Grossing Re-Release Weekends in Cinema History



Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’s re-release in theaters was a large success, incomes $25.2 million in 2,775 theatres in North America alone.

That was sufficient to debut in second spot on this week’s home field workplace chart, behind solely Sinners’ spectacular $45 million second week haul.

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’s field workplace final week was sufficient to make it one of many top-grossing re-release weekends in historical past, behind Star Wars – A New Hope’s $36 million from the 1997 Special version launch, and The Lion King’s $30 million from its 2011 3D launch.

Adding in $17 million taken internationally, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’s re-release introduced in an enormous $42.2 million on the international field workplace, clearly demonstrating the demand for Star Wars film re-releases.

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is the ultimate chapter in George Lucas’ epic saga, and divulges how Anakin Skywalker grew to become Darth Vader. It initially earned $850 million on the international field workplace.

The re-release beat The Accountant 2’s home field workplace debut of $24,492,743 and Until Dawn’s $8.015 million.
