Based on the groundbreaking graphic novel sequence by author Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons, Watchmen Chapter I adapts the gritty, Cold War superhero saga that redefined the comics medium again within the Eighties.
The official synopsis for Chapter I reads: “In an alternate world historical past set in 1985, the homicide of a government-sponsored superhero attracts his outlawed colleagues out of retirement and right into a thriller that threatens to upend their private lives and the world itself.”
As produced and directed by Brandon Vietti from an adaptation by J. Michael Straczynski, Watchmen Chapter I goals to faithfully recapture the visible aesthetic of the unique graphic novels illustrated by Dave Gibbons.
