If you’re anything like me, The Acolyte has got you amped up to go shred people, places, and things with a lightsaber again. The good news: Jedi Survivor has had 60% cleaved off and it’s wall-to-wall laser swords. Alternatively, I have also found the cheapest deals on Star Wars Outlaws which…er, doesn’t seem to include one single lightsaber in it. Shades of Dark Forces that I’m keen to preview soon.
In retro news, I’m celebrating the 21st birthday of WarioWare Inc., the Game Boy Advance grandaddy of a beloved microgames empire. Along with absurd tasks like picking one’s nose skillfully or shooting a bidet sprayer at a starfish-shaped something, I recall being delighted with the snippets from NES classics and this weirdly addictive Paper Plane bonus game. Oh, it’s also the 11th birthday of Remember Me today, a game I totally finished but have completely forgotten about. Nobody has ever made that joke.

Monster Hunter Rise mixes classic Monster Hunter ideas with some of World’s best improvements and a whole bunch of clever new mechanics of its own. Rise is a thrilling step forward in the series’ evolution. 8/10, great.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape

I was a huge Destiny fan, from the first beta until the middle of D2. Bounced off it for other things, but I still have fond memories of brilliant shooting, co-op camaraderie, and edge-of-our-seat raids. I hope Final Shape becomes all that and more.

Apparently, this rock solid 9/10er is getting a free Summer Update. We’re talking a photo mode (with posing options), the ability to respec your character, and the PS exclusive Hogsmeade Shop quest is now open to all platforms. Huzzah for the shopkeep!

Dark Souls 3 The Fire Fades

A whole kit and kaboodle with Dark Souls III, the Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel DLC and the Dark Souls III: The Ringed City DLC. For the record: we rated the base game 9.5/10. DS3 only gets better (and more deadly) with DLC.
