Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever entered Wednesday’s recreation towards the Washington Mystics on a constructive notice following their win over the WNBA-leading New York Liberty on Saturday. 

But, their matchup with Washington ended on a bitter notice.

Vanloo reacted to the push by placing her arm out as she appeared to attempt to perceive Clark’s motivation through the sequence.

A replay video confirmed a verbal trade between Vanloo and Clark. Also within the second quarter, Fever guard Erica Wheeler and 2024 WNBA All-Star Aliyah Boston had a back-and-forth with Mystics middle Stefanie Dolson.

A referee did intervene throughout th dispute between Vanloo and Clark. But at one level, the primary decide of the 2024 WNBA Draft appeared to indicate that the Washington guard dedicated flopping.

In the opening minutes of the sport, Clark knocked down a 3-pointer whereas Vanloo was defending her. Clark did seem to make contact with Vanloo as she stepped again to try the 3-pointer.

Clark completed the sport with 29 factors and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Vanloo recorded 13 factors and secured a pair of rebounds. Next up, the Fever host the Phoenix Mercury on July 12.
