The live action trailer for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 features a lot of 90s politicians, as Xbox confirms it will be added to Game Pass on day one.

Things are finally moving around this year’s Call Of Duty, revealed as Black Ops 6 last week with a teaser trailer. This week a promotional video was shared as well, confirming the rumours that it’s set during the Gulf War.

Now Activision has released a live action trailer of Black Ops 6, while Xbox confirms that it will be added to Game Pass on day one.

The announcement calms any fears that Black Ops 6 wouldn’t be free to play for Game Pass subscribers, although nothing has been said about rumours that a new, more expensive, tier of the service will be introduced as a result.

‘We’re excited to confirm that Game Pass members will be able to jump into Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 on day one with Game Pass,’ an Xbox Wire report reads.

The trailer is acted out by impressionists and shows US president Bill Clinton speaking on tape, saying, ‘You’re whole life is a lie.’

Other significant leaders included in the trailer are Margaret Thatcher, George Bush Sr., Colin Powell, and Saddam Hussein.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much of detail beyond what is already known: that it’s set during the Gulf War in the early 90s and that the slogan ‘The truth lies’ plays an important part in the story.

There is declassified correspondence between Thatcher and Bush Sr., in which Thatcher, then UK prime minister, suggested they use chemical weapons of their own during the Gulf War, to threaten Hussain, who had invaded Kuwait.

This didn’t materialise in real life, because Bush Sr. thought this would ‘put the US in the wrong in world opinion’, but could be part of the story of Black Ops 6, in some way or another.

John Major was prime minister by 1991, when the game actually seems to be set, but the above may be why Thatcher is featured – that and the fact that Americans probably don’t remember who Major was.

The live action trailer does not reveal a release date, but we know that Black Ops 6 will be properly revealed during the Xbox showcase on June 9.

The showcase has a 30 minute slot for Black Ops 6, and expectations are that the full trailer and the release date will be announced then.

Early rumours, which have been right about everything else so far, suggest the release date is October 25, which is exactly the sort of time you’d expect.
