The biking neighborhood is mourning the loss of life of Norwegian bike owner Andre Drege, who died Saturday after a crash in the course of the Tour of Austria. He was 25.

“We are devastated by the tragic passing of Andre Drege,” the assertion posted to X stated. “Our ideas and prayers are with Andre’s household and family members throughout this extremely troublesome time.

Race organizers stated Drege was concerned in a “very critical crash” throughout a descent in the course of the fourth stage of the race.

“It is with deep disappointment and heavy hearts that we now have to announce the passing of Andre Drege. On Saturday sixth July following a really critical crash in the course of the descent of the Großglockner at stage 4 of the Tour of Austria, André crashed and sustained extreme accidents,” the assertion posted to social media stated.
“Our total staff is devastated by this tragic accident, and our ideas and prayers are with André’s household and family members and his staff Coop-Repsol, throughout this extremely troublesome time.”
